Discoloured water possible

Watermain repairs on Municipal Road 15 in Val Caron may result in low water pressure and/or discoloured water for residents of Chelmsford, Azilda and the Valley until 12 p.m. July 23.

Residents with discoloured water should slowly run a cold water tap near their water meter for a few minutes until water is clear of sediment.

As a result of the repair work, MR 15 will be reduced to one lane between Frappier Road and Percy Avenue until end of day July 23. Temporary traffic lights will be in place.

Money to improve accessibility

Three organizations in the Sudbury area will share more than $121,00 to make their facilities more accessible.

Nickel Belt MP Marc Serre said St. Paul the Apostle will get $23,674 for accessible washrooms and an accessible door.

The Municipality of Killarney will get $38,946, also for accessible washrooms and doors.

Along the same lines, the Royal Canadian Legion Capreol Branch 179 will get $59,012.

The money will come from the federal government’s Enabling Accessibility Fund, which supports construction projects across Canada that improve the accessibility, safety and the inclusion of persons with disabilities. The program helps provide vital accessible infrastructure such as ramps, automatic doors and accessible washrooms.

“We are stronger when all residents can live, play and work in inclusive environments,” Serre said in a release.
