Summit to highlight top security issues facing government

The Security Industry Association (SIA) has announced that the 2019 SIA GovSummit, its annual public policy and government security technology conference, will be held June 26-27 in Washington, D.C. This premier event will bring together government security leaders and private industry technologists for top-quality information sharing and education on security topics affecting federal, state and even local agencies.

Day one of SIA GovSummit 2019 will be held at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Centre and gather a variety of public and private-sector professionals, including federal agency employees, to examine emerging policy trends, technology needs of the government and changes in the risk environment that shape development of products and advanced systems integration to meet evolving security challenges. On day two of GovSummit, SIA members will have the opportunity to visit congressional offices on Capitol Hill.

Topics for discussion include:

  • New policies and legislation impacting security
  • Evolving federal acquisition priorities
  • Emerging technology for public safety and homeland security
  • Government standards driving adoption of security technology

“Each year, SIA GovSummit is where government, security and technology come together to explore how security technologies can be leveraged to drive success across a wide spectrum of government missions,” said Jake Parker, Director of Government Relations at SIA. “We look forward to providing conference attendees the opportunity to network, share information and work together on security investment priorities and other key issues and challenges.”

This event is free for all government employees, including U.S. and international federal, state, county and municipal-level staff, plus all military, law enforcement and public safety personnel.
