How much will this cost?
Our price is not all-inclusive. There will be additional costs and work that you will have to pay builders, electricians, councils or other third parties. These costs are numbered on the diagram and explained further below.
You will need to dig a trench from your new meter position to your property boundary. You would normally appoint a builder to do this for you but we can quote for it too – prices from $75/metre dependant on the surface type.
We always have to dig in the footpath or road to connect a new underground supply. Only an accredited company can dig in the highway. The local authority may charge us to close the footpath or road which can delay work. Please note that in rare circumstances this could cost up to $15,000 and it could take up to three months to obtain permits.
Usually you need this service if:
- You are applying for up to four single-phase connections
- You need one three-phase connection up to 70kVA (100a)
- You are supplying premises with up to four metering points
- The meter position is less than 43m from the nearest main (likely to be in the footpath)
How long will the work take?
6-8 weeks from payment
This is an approximate time that the work could take, from quote acceptance and receipt of payment. Please be aware that during periods of high workload the times indicated may vary.
