Classic car collectors sometimes go lengths just to purchase rare examples like those half-century old machines, including those built by Ford, Dodge and Chevrolet. This Dodge 330 is one of 55 racing-Hemi-powered lightweight 1964-model cars with the special-order A864 package. Mr. Norm’s Grand Spaulding Dodge of Chicago, Illinois took delivery of the car in the same year. According to the seller, this Dodge 330 might have raced on drag strips before it went into storage for nearly 40 years (since 1966). It was then refurbished in 2005.

As part of the refurbishment, this two-door sedan was refinished in red. A number of its parts and components are made of aluminum, including body panels, front fenders, hood, hood scoop, doors and more. It features a thin-steel front bumper with aluminum brackets, with the hood retained by four hold-down pins. Its rear window is made from Corning Chemcor lightweight tempered glass, while its side windows are acrylic.

Sitting on heavy-duty front torsion bars and rear leaf springs, this Dodge 330 rides on 15-inch American Racing front wheels shod with staggered Pro-Trac tires.

Inside, this 1964 Dodge 330 boasts a red interior with vinyl Bostrom thin-line bucket seats, with matching door panels. Absent from this classic car are its radio, heater, and rear seats, as they were all factory-deleted.

Nevertheless, this two-door sedan features a two-spoke steering wheel with Dodge Golden Anniversary markings, as well as a semicircular horn ring. Instrument gauges include a 120-mph horizontal-sweep speedometer, an 8,000-rpm Sun Super Tach tachometer, Stewart-Warner Green Line gauges and more. Its five-digit odometer shows nearly 600,000 miles, but real mileage is a mystery.

Sitting under the hood is a rebuilt 426-ci Hemi V8 engine with an aluminum cross-ram intake manifold, two Holley 770cfm 3116 four-barrel carburetors, “K” Hemi cylinder heads as well as a 22″ radiator. Its pistons, bearings, rings, valves, and valve springs as well as fuel pump have been replaced. The gearbox has also been replaced with pushbutton-shifted A727 Torqueflite automatic transmission with a reverse manual valve body and a Sure Grip differential.

The two-door sedan comes with removed Carter fuel pump, a factory-style wet-cell battery as well as Mr. Norm’s Grand Spaulding Dodge decals. It also comes with a copy of the build card and a clean Michigan title.
