The Pick of the Day is a 50-year-old Ford Falcon station wagon, but not just any Ford Falcon station wagon. This one has been called Australia’s rarest car because it is the only  1970 Ford Falcon XY produced as a stretched limousine  with three doors on each side.

“Often referred to as the Holy Grail for Blue Oval fans, the vehicle was a special order fulfilled by Ford for TAA airlines in Tasmania who requested a courtesy limousine to shuffle VIP guests,” reports the private seller in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.

“The 6-door 1970 Falcon is a one-off vehicle manufactured in 1970 it is the only 6 door XY Falcon ever created. The vehicle is even rarer than one of 3 surviving Ford GTHO phase iv.” which, the private seller notes, sold for $1.030  million (Australian) at auction in 2018.
