Construction is now complete on The Symon, a 13-story condominium building at 76 Schermerhorn Street in Brooklyn Heights. Designed by Colberg Architecture and developed by Lonicera Partners, Orange Management, and The Davis Companies, the property features 59 units with interiors by Studio DB, which also led the design of the façade. The project is located between Boerum Place and Court Street, along the border with Boerum Hill.

Since our last update last July, all exterior work has concluded and the sidewalk scaffolding has been removed.

One of the nicest architectural aspects of the envelope are the wide arched windows on the lower and upper floors. The dark panels lining the edges, corners, and setbacks add contrast with the brick masonry walls between the spacious grid of windows. A rectangular canopy protrudes over the sidewalk and main doors and is flanked by floor-to-ceiling glass for the 3,000 square feet of retail frontage.

The Symon yields 86,000 square feet, with 68,460 square feet allocated to the residences for an average of 1,163 square feet apiece. Units are available in one- to four-bedroom spreads. The remaining space is devoted to amenities, which include a 24-hour attended lobby, private lounge, landscaped rooftop terrace, gym, children’s playroom, storage, bicycle spaces for purchase, and a limited number of private indoor automatic parking spots available for purchase. The nearest subways are the 2, 3, 4, and 5 trains at the two Borough Hall stations to the north. The A, C, and F trains are also nearby at the Jay Street-MetroTech station.
