Wouldn’t life be so much better if more new great sports cars were offered with a manual transmission? We love a good manual transmission, and we know that these manufacturers could have done really well if they had offered these new exciting models with a manual transmission, they may have been better cars.

Unfortunately, there are a few horrible cars out there that are offered with a manual gearbox. You just want to kick yourself knowing that these horrible cars are offered with a manual, yet some great cars are automatic only.

10 BMW F90 M5 (We Wish It Had A Manual)

The BMW F90 M5 is a very good car. It’s fast, comfortable, spacious and on the used market good value for money. Unfortunately, it is not offered with a manual transmission. Of course, some people will argue that this isn’t needed because the 8-speed automatic ZF transmission installed in the car is good enough. However, a manual would make this car so much more fun.

via bimmerpartsdirect.com

The last M5 to have a manual option was the F10 generation. That was a very rare car, and the 6-speed manual version was only offered in North America. That car is a unicorn nowadays since most were ordered in DCT spec. Of course, if the F90 was offered in manual spec, not many would buy since they prefer the ZF auto. However, some gearheads would still opt for a manual. Well, you can always get a manual F10 M5, and you’ll actually find they’re surprisingly cheap.

9 Mitsubishi Mirage (Horrible Car)

via: Which Car.co.uk

The Mitsubishi Mirage is a small horrible car that is offered with a manual. In fact, the only gearbox you can have is a 5-speed manual. This car is built to be cheap and the build quality is beyond appalling. This is one of the cheapest new cars on sale in North America, and you certainly get what you pay for.

You can just tell that a car built as well as a cheap Christmas cracker toy is going to have an amazing gearbox? No chance.

8 Porsche 992 Carrera (We Wish It Had a Manual)

We know that you can get a Carrera 4S/S with a manual, and that has more power and a few other bits of technology. However, if you’re a 911 purist who wants a new 911, chances are you’re going to want the bread and butter no-nonsense, Carrera. The previous Carrera models have all had a manual as standard with a Tiptronic or PDK as a costly extra. Now though, the PDK is the only gearbox you can get for a Carrera model.

via: caricos.com

The 992 Carrera is meant to be basic. It shouldn’t only be offered with the PDK. For that raw 911 experience, you really do need the manual. Not any old manual though, it needs a 6-speed manual.

7 Daewoo Matiz (Horrible Car)

via parkers.co.uk

The Daewoo Matiz is a terrible little car, which was also known as the Chevrolet Spark. It was a horrid little car that looked like a deformed egg on wheels. It was a really basic car with horrible build quality all around. The gearbox choices were either a dreadful 3-speed automatic or a dreary 5-speed manual.

via: pintrest.com

The Matiz was a car you only bought if you really had to, it wasn’t something you would cherish and own with pride. It’s something to get you from a to b, and after it’s done all of that, it gets crushed.

6 Ford Mustang GT500 (We Wish It Had a Manual)

Via: Ford.com

The Ford Mustang GT500 is an awesome bit of kit, but it’s only offered with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. What on earth is going on then? It’s not very muscle-car-like to ditch a manual for a dual-clutch, but then again this isn’t your typical muscle car.

The GT500 has always been offered in manual format. That’s something which makes the car special, and it gives them a better feeling. The Mustang is a muscle car and the fact that the top model isn’t even offered in manual form is really sad. We want a manual GT500 because it’s just so much cooler. The previous GT500 model was offered with a 6-speed manual, and it felt old-school. This is what enthusiasts want.

5 Dodge Caliber (Horrible Car)

Don’t ever think of dumping your Caliber in the sea, as you’ll be arrested for polluting the oceans with plastic! The Caliber was built in an era when most American manufacturers cheaped out on every part of the car. The key trend at the time was cheap gray plastics which looked drab and dreary.

via: en.wikipedia.org

The Caliber was a horrid car, and it was offered with a 5 or 6-speed manual. It’s such a dreary car, why on earth would you want a manual one? Having to press on the clutch and waste effort on changing gears in one of the worst cars in history. Such a demotivating car.

4 Alpine A110 (We Wish It Had a Manual)

Everything about the Alpine A110 is good, except for the fact there is no manual option. It’s a lovely little sports car, and if it had a manual it would have been a better sports car than the Porsche 718. The A110 is fitted as standard with a 7-speed dual-clutch, and whilst it is a very precise gearbox, you do notice that there is something missing.

That driver-to-car connection which you just don’t get with a paddle shifter gearbox. That satisfaction when you make a crisp gear change or the whole heel and toe business. This is what driving is all about. Therefore, the A110 needs to have a manual option in order to really show its true colors.

3 Saturn ION (Horrible Car)

via: favcars.com

The Saturn Ion is basically a disposable camera on wheels. It’s a car that nobody likes and something that nobody will ever care about. It was offered with two 5-speed manual options, and they were dreary. The Ion was the car the pizza boy drove hence why it was always considered a laughingstock.

The build quality is worse than the quality of the Kinder egg toys. It’s horrible and the “clamshell” doors look woeful. Like a cheap tribute to the RX8.

2 Toyota GR Supra (We Wish It Had a Manual)

via motortrend.com

The new Supra needs a manual gearbox. Imagine how much fun it would be if it had a 6-speed manual? We think people would stop calling it a “BMW” if it did and they would appreciate the car more. The new Supra is a great car despite being based on the Z4, and whilst the 8-speed ZF Automatic is a very good transmission, a 6-speed would have suited this car a bit more.

via : hdcarwallpapers.com

People used to laugh if you had an automatic Supra back in the day. The icing on the cake for the Supra was that manual transmission, and for it to be taken away is just wrong. Worse still, you know they can at any time make the new Supra a manual.

1 Peugeot 1007 (Horrible Car)

Via NetCarShow.com

This is just terrible. No words can describe what goes through the minds of the people who decide to make absolute trash like this. Even calling it a car is just too much of an insult to actual carmakers.

via raccars.co.uk

It has sliding doors which makes it very easy to get in and out of. Then this thing has an option for a 5-speed manual. You actually have to waste your energy changing gears in what’s basically a fridge on wheels.
