Lockly’s smart locks are known for their innovative security features, such as a randomizing PIN pad called “PIN Genie” that keeps people from guessing your code by watching your hand movements. The locks also allow access by fingerprint, one-time codes, voice control, and through the app. Previously, Lockly smart locks only worked with deadbolt and latch locks, but at CES 2021, the company introduced Guard, which makes new and existing sliding and swing-style doors smart.

It’s been tough to find a smart solution for sliding doors since they don’t use deadbolts, so the Guard is a welcome addition to the space. The lock comes in three finishes: Metallic Chrome, Satin Nickel, and Matte Black. The Lockly app allows you to see a timeline of when the door was used and by whom (if you assign all users unique entry codes), and it’s where you’ll register your fingerprint, assign other users codes, and control the lock by either WiFi or Bluetooth.

Alexa and Bluetooth compatibility means that you can lock or unlock your door with a quick voice command (plus a PIN for extra security if you’re unlocking). Though you can set the Guard to automatically lock when the door is closed, you can also use Alexa and Google to check whether it is indeed locked.

Guard is expected to be available for purchase in Q2, and it will be priced at $500.
