Mobile ID and payments are the big trends in this week’s roundup of Mobile ID World’s most popular stories, with items including some big Apple news and an expanding naked payments platform.

First, though, it may be that Pakistan had the biggest mobile ID news of all this week. The country’s National Database and Registration Authority has launched a mobile app enabling citizens to register in Pakistan’s national ID program through selfie-based biometric onboarding:

Apple, meanwhile, provided an important update to its previously announced mobile ID plans. The company has revealed some of the specific states that have committed to recognizing Apple’s mobile driver’s licenses, and also confirmed that the Transportation Security Administration will accept them as valid ID at airport screening lanes:
